Alexander Vecherov
Alexander Vecherov (b. 1999, Alexandrov, Vladimir Region) is an artist whose practice emerged from observing inner psychological shifts within the context of a provincial environment. From an early age, his engagement with the blank page became fundamental: he perceives space as a medium where an autonomous world of images, thoughts, and states can come into being. He received his artistic education at the Abramtsevo Art and Industrial College named after V.M. Vasnetsov (2015–2019), where he studied under Pavel Medvedev and Andrey Simakov. During this period, the foundation of his practice was formed: an academic school of drawing and painting, with a strong focus on structure, form, and materiality. After graduating, he concentrated on developing his own artistic method, gradually moving beyond the boundaries of classical visual language. Since 2020, he has been working with object-based forms: creating soft design objects inspired by marine biology and entomology, as well as developing original garments and accessories. This stage became essential in shaping his individual visual and tactile language. Over time, his exploration of form expanded across various media, including jewelry, ceramics, land art, and the restoration of interior furniture. He currently lives and works in Moscow. In his practice, he combines academic discipline with a research-based approach, engaging with image, structure, and the mechanisms of perception.
