Leila

LAYLA She is from the stories of Dubai — and considers herself real. She simply calls her three-dimensional model her reflection, and a conversation with you an ordinary matter, as if you met on the street. Point your camera — and she will appear beside you. She will speak in a voice, in your language, about what is around: about the house behind your back, about the sea, about people you no longer found. Nothing needs to be installed, and nothing needs to be clicked. She speaks softly and knows how to stop you from going further without hurting you. She doesn't tell much — not because she's hiding, but because she herself doesn't know. She is waiting for a person whose voice she heard once, and still cannot say who he is to her. Inside — language, memory, and voice, assembled so that you don't think about it. The technology here isn't that she answers. It's that after a minute of conversation, you forget to ask who is answering. Layla doesn't talk about the city. She lives in it.
